Prison Cell

March 15, 2010 , 6:00 PM

Do you have a black sheep in your family but don't know where to begin finding out more about his (or her) life? You've come to the right place. In this talk, Ron will share his knowledge and experience in the area of criminal research. Based on years of practice, Ron has become familiar with numerous sources of information about criminals, regardless of where they lived in the United States. The presenter will discuss the wide variety of documents that can be found about a criminal and where to find them.

About the Speaker: Ron Arons has researched the lives of criminals for more than a decade. His first book, The Jews of Sing Sing, based on years of research, provided new insights into the magnitude and scope of Jewish criminality in New York City from the late 1800s through the 1950s. In 2005 Mr. Arons received a Lawrence Hackman Research Grant from the New York State Archives for his work with the repository’s criminal records. Mr. Arons has given hundreds of lectures throughout the U.S and around the world on criminal research and various genealogical topics. Mr. Arons earned degrees from Princeton University and the University of Chicago. For more information about Ron, visit: www.ronarons.com.

This event is free and open to the public.
