Some JGSGB members may be interested in the event described below that is taking place today (Wednesday) at the American Jewish Historical Society. ----------------- In celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month, The New England Archives of the American Jewish Historical Society will present a lecture, âAmong Mishpocha: At Home in the Boston Jewish Communityâ by Dr. Michael Feldberg on Wednesday May 25, 2011 at 6 PM in the Education Center of the New England Historic Genealogical Society, 99 Newbury Street, Boston. Dr. Feldberg, an historian and former executive director of the American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS), is currently executive director of the George Washington Institute for Religious Freedom. He will speak about Jewish genealogy in its historical context by highlighting some of the Boston Jewish family collections currently on exhibit at the New England Archives of AJHS. He will also offer an overview of some of the institutional and organizational records at AJHS that contain materials of interest to genealogists.
