11:00 am  What's in a Name: Trouble!

 1:30 pm  Nifty Technologies
  for Genealogical Research Analysis
11:00 am  What’s in a Name? Trouble!

Ron Arons’ great-grandfather, Isaac Spier, served  time in Sing Sing Prison for bigamy and committed other crimes. Though Isaac Spier is an uncommon name, during his research Ron has come across records of other men with the same name who were born in the same general time frame, lived in the same places, and who also found trouble, either in business or with women. Ron will discuss the methods he used to untangle and organize these documents to determine how many distinct individuals the records represent.

12:30 pm  Optional Lunch

With a reservation and advance payment of $20, enjoy an optional kosher buffet lunch of cold cuts and vegetarian dishes catered by The Butcherie.
Reserve lunch.
Note: The Temple does not permit people to bring their own food from outside.

1:30 pm  Nifty Technologies for Genealogical Research Analysis

Ron will discuss and demonstrate a variety of very cool tools for genealogical analysis and documentation including timelines, genograms, mind maps, technologies that can be used together to translate books, and more.

Ron Arons is a professional genealogist and popular international lecturer. He earned a B.S. in Engineering from Princeton and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He’s written The Jews of Sing Sing, Wanted! U.S. Criminal Records, and Mind Maps for Genealogy.
