from Eastern and Central Europe between the World Wars
Sharon Pucker Rivo
Join Sharon Pucker Rivo, Executive Director of The
National Center for Jewish Film at Brandeis, for a peek into the archive vaults.
Attendees will view clips of rare films from the Center’s collections
that document the diversity and vibrancy of Jewish life in Eastern and
Central Europe between the Wars.
Sharon Pucker Rivo co-founded The National Center
for Jewish Film and has been a leading force in the field of Jewish
film and culture for more than three decades through her work as a
curator, programmer, archivist, film distributor, film and
television producer, and academic. She holds degrees from Brandeis University and the University of California, Berkeley, and is on the faculty of Brandeis University.

I'm Not Polish: My Discovery of Identity
Leora will
present the story of the serendipitous journey to her own Polish
identity. Leora has traveled extensively in Poland and draws on a wide network of connections to scholars and others doing “memory work” there. As the founder and director of Bridge to Poland, she leads tours that examine the country’s rich Jewish past and works with Christian Poles committed to preserving that history. Leora holds a BA from Wellesley College and a JD/LLM from Duke University School of Law.
